BLURB

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

EXCERPT

For the rest of the afternoon, all I thought about was Eirik—his identity and why I was supposed to protect him. He might have dismissed the Norns’ warning, but I couldn’t.
During last period, a student aid came to my class with a note from Mrs. Underwood, my counselor. Somehow, I knew she’d want to see me.
I collected my books and headed toward the front office. We had three counselors and several students were already waiting. The only empty place left to sit was between two guys, one listening to his iPod while hitting imaginary drums and the other looking like he hadn’t bathed in decades.
Choosing the wall by the door, I let my backpack drop by my feet, placed the oboe case beside it, and pulled out my cell phone. I barely put in the earbuds when Mrs. Underwood’s door opened and a boy stepped out.
“Lorraine,” she said, opening the door wider.
I grabbed my things and followed her. I sat and hugged my backpack. The last time she and I had spoken, we met with the principal in his office. They’d been worried that my father’s accident had left me unhinged. I hadn’t blamed them or felt insulted. The school security officer had spotted me talking to an invisible Torin and assumed I was talking to myself.
Torin. I’d completely pushed his problem aside. What was I going to do about him? I had to help him remember me. I didn’t care what the Norns had said. He needed me just as much as Eirik did because he and I were meant to be together.
“Did you hear what I said, Lorraine?” Mrs. Underwood asked, leaning forward on her desk.
I blinked and stared at her. “I’m sorry. What?”
“How are you feeling?”
I shrugged. “Okay.”
“No effects from your surgery?”
I shook my head and wondered if she would ask me about the meet and how I’d known the students were in danger.
“I know today was your first day back since we lost your teammates, and it couldn’t have been easy. I want you to know that my door is always open if you need to talk.”

REVIEW'S:

This was supposed to be a review for Immortals but I hadn't realized that I had signed up for the review since I had not read the first book, Runes. So I decided to read Runes first and then Immortals and am posting both reviews here!

Review of Runes:

5 HUGE STARS!!!

When I first started reading Runes I had no idea where this story was going. I really didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. But I fell in love! Hard! The characters are fantastic! You've got Raine, the heroine, who is a bit shy, co-captain of the school swimteam, works hard to get good grades and is just as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. You've got her best friend Cora that is funny and snarky, with not a shy bone in her body. The complete opposite of Raine. Their friendship may seem a bit quirky but it works so well with them. Then their is Eirick, who has been best friends with Raine since they were small kids. He also happens to be Raine's long time crush even though he doesn't know it.

Then there is Torin St. James. 6'3, dark hair, sapphire blue eyes, cocky smirk, and he rides a Harley! Need I say more?? YUM!! At first you won't know whether to smack him or kiss him but either way drooling is absolutely acceptable! Once you get farther into the book and get to see more than just Torin's cocky side, you will definitely fall in love with him! He easily made the list of my favorite book boyfriends!

Runes has it all! Love ( sometimes in a triangle ;-) ), mystery, nail-biting suspense, and mythology. Finding out exactly what and where Torin was from was exciting since I'm a fan of Greek and Norse mythology. Everything in the book has a purpose even if you don't realize it at first. Some mystery's are solved, others are brought into play. There is a cliffhanger so trust me when I say that you MUST buy both books!! You won't be able to stop with just Runes. You will NEED to know what happens in Immortals!! Ednah Walter's has blown me away!

Review of Immortals:

5 even bigger stars than the first!!

Seriously! Immortals is even better than the first! If that's even possible!
It starts with Raine in her house and she hears Torin coming down their street on his Harley. For those who've read the first will understand why this is such a big deal. Of course it says in the synopsis that he loses his memory, which is heart breaking. My heart seriously broke right along with Raine's. By book 2, you are so invested in the characters that when they hurt, you hurt.  But Raine doesn't give up easily. She's going to fight for her and Torin. You will cheering along with her! I know I did.
Immortals has everything Runes does but so much more! I know between both books I ended up biting my nails off! Full of action, suspense, romance, shocking revelations that will leave you floored! So many things I didn't see coming! Had me guessing from beginning to end. At one point I was tempted to go to the back of the book just to see how it ends! It's been a long time since I've had a book tempt me that much which says a lot! After some revelations I even had tears! That's right, it made me cry!
And the Norns, let's just say I've never wanted to punch characters more than those hags!
I read Immortals in a matter of hours! Hours! I DEVOURED it! And now I'm going into some major Torin withdrawals. I NEED the next book! I have no idea when it's coming out but I hope its soon! I don't know how long I can hold on. I may have a girl crush on Ms. Walter's after this. This series has easily landed on my list of all-time favorite series! Pick up both Runes and Immortals if you haven't already! I can't stress how amazing these books are! I'm eagerly awaiting Grimnirs! Ms. Walter's please don't leave me hanging for too long!!
