Nikki's Review:
5++++ Stars!!

I'm not usually into sci-fi type books but let me just say, this one blew me away! The world building is so creative and imaginative and unique. The characters were all very enjoyable. Braita has the equal amounts of sass, courage, and girlishness. She's caught in a love-triangle with not just 2 but 4 guys. Now that sounds confusing but the way the story is laid out, each pair of guys is called a Vaq Pair and each Vaq Pair has one female destined for them. She just happens to be caught between two very enticing Vaq Pairs. What does a girl do with all that yummy maleness?
I was able to connect with Braita from the beginning. She immediately shows that she's a strong, capable young woman. But even with that, she still has a lot to learn when she's forced from her home planet to live amongst a superior alien race called the Mian's.
This story started out in installments and I followed it from the beginning. I'm so happy that it can now be found in one complete set because once you start you wont want to put it down until its finished!! It was like sweet torture waiting for the next installment!
Scarlett Dawn is one of those authors that I wish I could force people to sit down and read because I know if they did, they would love her work as much as I do! She very quickly became an automatic one-click for me. I dont even need to read the blurb anymore before buying. I hope, like me, you come out of your comfort zone for this amazing story! You wont be disappointed! Make sure to also try Scarlett's other works! They are all MUST READS!!

Trusting Liam by Molly McAdams - Blog Tour

TrustingLiam
trustingliam
Synopsis:
From the New York Times bestselling author of Taking ChancesFrom Ashes, and Stealing Harper, comes the new unforgettable adult romance Molly McAdams’ fans have been waiting for—the sizzling story of a young woman who must place her trust in the one man who can break through her defenses.
A night they will always remember…a connection neither can deny…a secret that could destroy it all…
When Kennedy Ryan moves to California, she never expects to come face-to-face with Liam Taylor—the intriguing man who has haunted her thoughts for a year. A man who led her to breaking every one of her rules for a single night of passion that ended up meaning more than it was ever supposed to. Accustomed to disastrous experiences with men, Kennedy shields herself before he can break down more of the carefully built control she’s clung to for the last four years. But every time she sees Liam, she feels her resolve weakening.
Liam Taylor has been asked to help socialize his boss’s nieces. But what he thinks sounds more like a babysitting job ends up leading him to the only girl who ever slipped away before morning—a girl he thought he’d never find again. And now that she’s within reach, Liam’s determined to never let her go.
But when a secret from her past tests their relationship, will they be able to cling to the trust Liam has worked so hard to build?
Excerpt:
"Trying not to wake him, I slowly slid out from under his arm and off the bed to search for my clothes. Once I was dressed, I told myself to just leave, but I couldn’t help it—I turned to look at him in the light. I needed to be sure I hadn’t made him up.

The images from last night tore through my mind again when I saw the large, tattooed arm resting where my body had just been. The muscles were well defined even relaxed, and the face had a boyish charm now that he was asleep. Such a difference from the predatory stare and knowing smirk I kept seeing in my mind. Before I could stop myself, I gently ran my fingers through his dirty-blond hair that, now in the sunlight, I could see had a red tint to it. And I knew if he opened them, those arctic blue eyes would once again captivate me.

But I couldn’t risk that.

I’d already stayed too long; I’d already made a mistake with him. Drunken one-night stands weren’t my thing. Drunken one-night stands with strangers in Vegas were even worse.
Straightening, I turned and walked quietly from the room."-- Molly McAdams, Trusting Liam
mollyAbout the Author:
Molly McAdams grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughters. Her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach, which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she's not at work, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

5+++ STARS!!

(please don't read review if you haven't read Taking Chances or Stealing Harper)

Where do I even begin with how much I loved this book?! Ok, so, if you loved Taking Chances and Stealing Harper, then you will most definitely LOVE Trusting Liam! Liam is the perfect blend of Chase and Brandon. If, like most of us, you still have a void in your heart from the loss of our beloved Chase, then let Liam fix that for you!  You really get the best of everything in Liam. And who does he fall for? None other than the daughter of our cherished couple, Kash and Rachel!! Kennedy has so much spunk in her that you can't help but to love her! She's very much like her daddy. :)
So, Trusting Liam takes place about 20+ years after Taking chances. *gasp* I know right? I cried when it hit me that Chase had been gone for over 20 years. Then I cried every time he was referred to. But it was such good cries. You get to see his baby boy being a man and you just know that Chase is right there with Liam. *sobs* Our original favorites make cameo's as well. Harper, Brandon, Bree, Rachel, Kash, Mason, Eli, Brian. Brian was hilarious! Some of my favorite parts of the book involved him!
Molly has done such an AMAZING job at not only combining these two series but filling and essentially healing our hearts from the hole that was left by Chase's death. I cant imagine that she could have done a better job with this story. I knew it was going to be good but it went beyond my expectations! It is a definite must read for all Molly McAdams fans and Chase fans! Let the healing begin!!

Wolf of Stone by Quinn Loftis - Blog Tour

Wolf of Stone (The Gypsy Healer Series, Book 2)

by Quinn Loftis

Synopsis

Dalton Black, a Canis lupis full of guilt and anger, never expected to find his true mate. Perhaps already slipping into madness, he had resigned himself to the fact that he would walk the earth without the other half of his soul. He was convinced that his sins were enough to keep the Great Luna from giving him such a blessing. He knew it was probably better that way. His past was as dark as his name and after three centuries of running from it, the memories were finally catching up to him. But all of those resignations evaporated when he saw her broken and bloodied body lying on that alter. Though the man didn’t recognize her, the wolf did. Through battle and bloodshed he was able to save her from the evil that held her captive, but now he would need her to save him from himself.
Jewel Stone was wholly unaware of the ancient bloodlines of Gypsy Healers, mates to Canis lupis and protectors of the packs – much less that she carried that blood herself. But when a beautiful but deadly woman showed up in her home and ripped her from her realm, she knew her life would never be the same. Her mother, Gem, a fortune teller, had warned her that something was coming, that her life was about to change dramatically, but like everyone else, Jewel had dismissed her as a crazy person.
Jewel was the laughing stock of her school simply because Gem was her mother. And up until now, her life was one big disappointment after another. Instead of heeding her mother’s warning, she hid in her books, burying herself behind knowledge, both fact and fiction. She escaped into worlds created by others and filled her mind with facts of every kind in an effort to push away the hurtful words that others bombarded her with. Despite all of her knowledge and all of her fantastical stories, she never dreamed her own future would be full of adventure, danger, passion, and the possibility of unconditional love. As she lay unconscious after her first bloody encounter in the fae realm, her only chance of survival lay in the hands of a man scarred by his past, disfigured both emotionally and physically, and beyond the reach of any who had tried to help him.
Can two broken people, who carry the other half of each other’s souls, span the chasm between them and restore the innocence ripped from both their lives? Will they let the promise of healing love overcome the difference in age and experience, and the separation of species and realms? Or will they give in to the fear and doubt that would keep them from one another for eternity?

Excerpt:

Okay, regardless of the fact that I can’t see all the cool little pixie people, and their beautiful realm, I know you guys have to be as bored as I am. And by bored I mean I’m thinking of banging my head repeatedly against the closest tree just to break up the monotony. I mean, seriously, other than this need to plow back through the forest all the way to Peri’s and jump in the arms of some man I don’t know, my life is not all that exciting at the moment.”
Anna nodded. “Agreed on the whole needing to make a run for it. However, rest assured, Heather, being able to see hasn’t improved the quality of our time spent here. If anything it’s made it a tad more disturbing. Since you cannot see, you’ve missed the looks the little pixie men are giving us. You haven’t seen them eye you up and down like you’re a piece of apple pie.”
Stella laughed. “Heather, I wish you could see Anna’s face. You would think this chick hadn’t lived in New Orleans her whole life. I know they have some interesting folks down there on the bayou. But the way she keeps shooting nervous glances at the curious pixies, it’s like she’s never been out of her house.”
“Curious?” Anna balked. “They are a tad more than curious, Stella. I mean that spike haired one asked if he could see if my excreters were larger than his head.”
“Wait, where was I when this happened and what are excreters?” Adam spoke up as he took a seat next to Crina.
Heather and Stella were laughing so hard they could hardly speak.
“Apparently that’s a pixie term for breast,” Elle answered for them.”
“Oh that is awesome!” Adam threw his head back and laughed.
Anna shook her head with and grumbled. “You wouldn’t think it was awesome if it was your excreters he was asking about.”

Luna of Mine by Quinn Loftis - Blog Tour

Luna of Mine (The Grey Wolves Series, Book 8)
By Quinn Loftis

Synopsis

Every life leaves behind a legacy. Every story has a beginning and an end. The Alpha of the Romania Grey Wolves knows this better than most. He also knows it’s the things that transpire to create that legacy and the experiences, triumphs and failures that happen in the middle of the story that matter. His story began a century ago and now a tragedy has led him to his rightful place as Alpha of the Eastern Romania pack. Before he led hundreds, he had to learn to lead a few. Before he sacrificed for all, he had to be willing to sacrifice for any. Before he could be the man destined to save his race he had to be willing to serve them. In order to be raised up he had to first be torn down. There was only one who could do this and live, only one who could light his way when the darkness closed in; his mate, his Luna. This is the building of their legacy, the middle of their story. Their triumphs, their failures, and their tragedy’s that would one day make them strong enough to restore a race torn apart by greed, envy, and fear.

Excerpts

Excerpt # 1

All of a sudden she felt thoughts pouring into her mind that were not her own, and she tried desperately not to reveal to the three wolves, especially the massive blue eyed one, that she was receiving them.
Slowly, she assumed not to frighten her, they made their way to some of the clothing that had already dried, and each wolf tugged down a pair of trousers with their muzzles. They started to phase right there, and Alina gasped as she spun around giving them her back. Many of the wolves were comfortable phasing in front of each other, but Alina had never liked being naked in front of anyone, pack or not.
“We are decent. You may turn around now, female.” His rich, deep voice rumbled, causing a shiver to run down her spine. She did not miss the amusement that laced his tone. Alina gritted her teeth. He thought it was funny that she was embarrassed by their nudity.
She could feel him attempting to communicate with her through her thoughts but she shut him out. She was not ready for this. She tried to still her rapidly beating heart as she turned around slowly. And when her eyes landed on the three men she took an involuntary step back, not because they were shirtless―and all-be-it quite nicely formed, but because of who they were. She recognized the one who had given her that cloth to wipe her eyes so many years ago, and behind the stern demeanor, she could still see the kindness he possessed. A low growl brought her attention back to the real threat. Their Alpha was finally here. After weeks of waiting and fretting and yearning, there he stood less than thirty feet away.  When she looked at his face, she saw something that she only ever saw on mated males, possessive jealousy.
No, she thought to herself sternly. It cannot be.
“Luna.” Vasile’s voice caressed her skin and she fought to keep the moan that rose up inside of her silent. “Mina.” Her eyes widened as she realized he had not said that one out loud.
She shook her head at him and started to take another step back, but the one who had helped her in the market place held up his hand to stop her. “You know better than to run from a predator.”
His warning seemed to snap her out of her flight mode, and she took a deep breath and steadied herself. For now she would just continue on as if they had shown up and nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. “My father and mother are at the neighbor’s house tending to one of the young males,” she explained making sure to keep her eyes from staying on Vasile for too long. “They should be back shortly if you want to wait.” Silently she begged them not to. “Or I can point you in the direction of the meeting place.”
“We will wait, Mina.” Vasile smiled and it was breathtaking.
Alina decided then and there that if she never saw another sunset or sunrise in her life it would be alright as long as she got to see his smile every day. The smirk that over took his lips told her that he had caught her thoughts. She tried to close the bond that had burst open between them the minute she had seen him but he was much stronger than her and he refused to be blocked. Irritated by his smugness and her inability to act unaffected by him she shrugged. “By all means, make yourselves at home.” She motioned towards their small cottage and tried not to cringe at the idea of him seeing just how slight it was, a house where she did not even have her own room. She did not hold it against her parents. They were doing the best they could and they loved her dearly. Love made up for a whole multitude of wants that could not be met. “You will have to excuse me, I am supposed to be meeting a friend in a few minutes. There is bread on the table if you are hungry.” She turned to go but had to stop abruptly to keep from slamming into the massive man who had suddenly appeared in front of her. Her head tilted back and she looked up to see a frown staring back at her. Someone so beautiful should never frown, she thought. His face smoothed immediately. Now she was frowning.

Excerpt # 2

“You will not deny me, Mina. I have waited a century for you. You are young, but not so young that you do not know what is happening. Sixteen? Many human females are married with a babe on the way at this age.” Her eyes widened in surprise at his bluntness. “However, we are not human are we? We are Canis lupis; we have one true mate designed solely for us. Some of us wait hundreds of years before they find their mate. I can wait a little longer if I must. Do not use your age as an excuse to avoid what is. You are mine. Something tells me you are not a fool, but if you think that I will let you go, then a fool you have become.”
“You certainly know how to make a woman feel revered,” Alina bit out. Her tone of voice shocked him, and it gave her the opportunity to knock his hand away and step out of his reach. He started for her but stopped when her father’s voice boomed through the air.
“Alpha! Welcome.” Petre and his wife walked over to where Alina and Vasile stood. They both bared their neck to him and then were careful to keep their eyes anywhere but on his. “I see you have met our daughter, Alina.” When Vasile did not answer, her father glanced up to his face, blanched, and quickly looked away.  “Perhaps, we will take your warriors in and give them a drink.”
Alina started to call out to her father but her mother caught her eyes and shook her head one time. The stern look and tight lips told her that her mother meant business. As she watched her only hope of getting away from the wolf at her door, so to speak, moving further and further away, she bit her lip trying to think of an excuse to follow them. Her thoughts were interruptedwhen a large, warm hand enveloped hers. She looked down and saw her fingers interlaced with Vasile’s, and it felt so good, so right. He pulled her over to a bench where she and her mother often sat to talk after the day’s work was done. He sat and nodded for her to sit next to him. So she sat; what else could she do?
“Tell me why you do not want me,” he said bluntly.
Her brow drew together as she looked up at him. “I never said I did not want you. I am just young.”
“That is not enough of a reason to turn your mate away. Tell me the true reason you deny me?”
She looked away, not wanting him to see the shame on her face. She wished desperately that it was not there. “We are not the same,” she finally admitted.
“I would hope not,” he chuckled. “I very much like our differences and hope to enjoy them more in the future.”
She blushed at his insinuation. It was as improper as it was bold.

Excerpt # 3

Her mouth was dry, and her hand shook as she raised it to touch the place on her neck where Vasile, Alpha of their pack, had only moments ago caressed her gently with his thumb. Something so insignificant, and yet it was the most precious touch she had ever received. He was gone now, along with his two warriors and her father. Females could attend meetings, but really there was no point. The males would be too busy trying to protect their mate if they were there, and then they would not get anything accomplished.
She had not moved from the place where he had left her. Her shoes were suddenly filled with lead too heavy to lift. Her eyes stared, not seeing anything in front of her as her mind raced, and she battled her will. She wanted to flee, to hide from the male who had affected her so. She also wanted to throw herself in his arms and make him promise never to leave her again. But instead of doing either, she just stood there frozen with indecision, doubt, and, to her surprise, curiosity. While he had been next to her, she had felt as if she could fly, but now her body felt heavy and uncoordinated.
“Alina,” her mother called to her yet she still could not move. She heard her footsteps coming closer and knew that her mother would want to know what was wrong, and for once she was afraid to tell her―afraid she would insist she pack and leave with him at once and afraid she would not.
“He is the one, no?” she asked.
Somehow Alina managed to get her head to perform a wobbly nod. Her eyes finally shifted as she looked at her mother. “How could you tell?”
Georgeta’s lips puckered. “Tsk, girl, I know a male on the hunt when I see one. He was staring at you as though you were the ripest fruit plucked from the harvest and dropped in his lap. I might have even seen a tad bit of salivating.”
That finally made Alina move as she laughed at her mother. The thought of any male salivating over her, especially one such as Vasile, was indeed ludicrous. She was no great beauty, she knew that, and usually that did not bother her. “You must not have seen him clearly, Mother. Had you seen his expression from a more direct position, you would have seen the scowl plastered on his handsome face as he glared down at me.”
“He is quite lovely, is he not?” Her mother beamed at her.
Alina crossed her arms in front of her and narrowed her eyes. “I hardly think your mate would appreciate you saying so.”
“Did you notice how tall he was? And that hair was so dark and thick,” her mother continued completely ignoring her. “His lips were definitely worth a second glance.”
Alina stomped her foot, childish, but unavoidable. “Enough! How can you carry on so?”
“Feeling a bit possessive, dear?” Her mother’s knowing eyes sparkled at her.
