There
are paths we take in life that lead us to where we are supposed to be—where we are meant to be all along. I didn’t know
that my journey, which had been filled with so much pain and so much
all-consuming rage, would lead me to her.

She
is my salvation. My undoing. My reason for breaking…

Storm
Messer has just graduated college. But instead of spending the summer
traveling, like she had intended, she finds herself dumped by her boyfriend and
working for her parents at their family’s prestigious restaurant.

Ryker
Noakes had every intention of going away to college until he lost the one
person who kept him grounded. Now five years later he finds himself spending
his days working as a mechanic, and his nights working off his aggression over
things he cannot change as an underground MMA fighter.

Neither
could have known that a chance meeting would spark up a friendship that would
lead to an undeniable romance. But when they find out their pasts collide, it
threatens to destroy any future they may have together.

Breaking isn’t always a bad thing. —
As long as you have the right person
to
put you back together.

Break

Amanda
Stone is the author of the USA Today Bestselling book, Breathe into Me. She was
born and raised in the foothills of eastern Kentucky. She loves being from, and
living in, this beautiful state so much that she decided to move to a small
little town that is—no pun intended—called, Lovely.

Amanda
is currently living out her, happily ever
after,
with her reformed bad boy
hubby, their two wild little kidlets, and a house full of critters.
(Technically, its two dogs and a cat, but if it was up to her husband, those
numbers would be drastically larger.)

Ryker guided me backward, pushing me
until my back was flush against the cool wood siding of the house. He leaned in
closer, his scent engulfing me—consuming me. “Storm,” he huskily whispered.
“Close your eyes.”
As if I had no control over myself, my
body did as he commanded and my eyes drifted shut. I heard the creak of wood
giving as he placed each of his hands on either side of my head. Even with my
eyes closed I knew how close he was to me. His breaths were softly blowing
against my lips. Out of habit, my tongue slipped from between my lips,
moistening them in anticipation. I heard a low growl rumble up from Ryker’s
chest and he placed forehead against mine.
“Ryke…” I began, but he silenced me by
gently placing his finger against my lips.
“I don’t know why you fight this, Storm.”
He huffed and pulled his face away from mine. “I know you feel it. You feel how
right this is.” He tenderly grasped my chin in his hand, turning my head to the
side, giving him better access to my neck. He ran his lips over my burning skin
before placing a soft kiss where my shoulder and neck meet. My body shivered at
his touch and he pulled away again. “You see, your body knows what it wants.
Damn, Storm, even your heart knows what it wants. But you let your head get in
the way of all that. You let your head lead you, and, baby, its leading you the
wrong way.”

He leaned closer to my ear. “Just stop
thinking. Stop thinking and feel. Feel how your breathing becomes erratic when
I do this.” He ran his tongue along my earlobe. “Feel how your heart speeds up
when I tell you how unbelievably sexy you are, and how you have me in pain just
thinking about being inside you again.” He paused, and I stayed quiet,
listening to his uneven breaths. “Feel how your skin tingles when I touch you.”
He ran his hand down my side, his fingers leaving a trail of fire in their
wake. “I do that to you. Me. Why fight this? Why fight something that feels so
undeniably right? You know you want me,” he growled against my lips. “And deep
down, you know you’re already mine.”

Rapture by Quinn Loftis - Blog Tour - Review

Rapture (Elfin Series Book 2)
By Quinn Loftis

Synopsis

Triktapic, the deadly dark elf assassin, has been restored by the Forest Lords to his rightful place as king of the Elven realm. Now, he must face his former comrades as he attempts to stop Lorsan, king of the dark elves, from enslaving the human race. Lorsan has already begun distributing Rapture, the irresistible drink that destroys those who unknowingly become addicted to it. Will Cassie, his Chosen, be able to give Trik the strength he needs to face his dark past?

Meanwhile, Cassie’s best friend, Elora, is in a fight for her own life. Elora, her mother, Lisa, and a small band of light elves have traveled deep into the dark elf realm in hopes of rescuing Cassie and Trik. But their mission quickly turns into a battle for their own lives as they are surrounded by Lorsan and his warriors. Though outnumbered ten to one, the humans and elves fight heroically. They fight for a King once lost, but now found. They fight for the human realm that doesn’t yet know it is in need of saving. They fight for love; a love that has already been discovered and a love that is waiting to be revealed. Despite their valiant efforts, the band is captured and held captive by the dark elf king.

The peaceful world that Cassie and Elora knew is long gone, shattered by their realization that elves walk secretly among them, and are bent on their destruction. Soon, each of the girls will be forced to choose her own path. Cassie must decide to which world she belongs and Elora must decide if she
will fight for a warrior hell bent on keeping her from his side.

Two species, human and elf, stand on the precipice of war, united in one goal; shatter the dark elf king’s plan, and unite a divided race under the rule of the one true King.

Excerpt

“You’re mine, Cassie, my Chosen. I cannot do what it is I have to do without you.” He felt emotions that seemed to have been building all day begin to rush through him and he was nearly overwhelmed. He cupped her face and leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. He shouldn’t be lying here with the most incredibly sweet woman he’d ever met. He didn’t deserve her, and yet, he wouldn’t let her go, not ever.
Cassie moaned as Trik kissed her. If there was one thing her assassin could do, it was kiss. His lips worked a spell over her as she parted her lips for him. The taste of him rushed into her and she pushed closer to him, needing to feel him against her—needing to know that she was safe and that Trik wouldn’t let anything happen to her. His arms wrapped around her and he rolled them so that she was on top of him. She laughed into their kiss at the quick motion, and when she opened her eyes, she saw his silver ones staring back at her.
“You’re so beautiful, A’maelamin,” he whispered to her.
She felt his hands run down her back and stop at the lowest point of the small of her back. She would like to say that she was feeling virtuous, but that would be a big, fat lie. She wiggled against him and
Trik groaned and gripped her hips suddenly, holding her still.
“You know what they say about those who play with fire?” Trik asked her in a dangerously low and utterly seductive voice.
Cassie leaned down until her mouth was next to his ear. “That they’re begging to be burned?”

Nikki's Review:

5 stars!!

Quinn Loftis never ceases to amaze me!  Her writing is addictive. The world's she creates with simply words always sucks me right in. Rapture is no different. I've been looking forward to this book for the last year after devouring Elfin. I fell for Trik and wanted more! While Rapture mainly focuses on Cassie's best friend, Elora and light elf warrior Cush, there are plenty of scenes involving  Cassie and Trik and their evolving relationship.

I really enjoyed getting to read and learn more about the ever sarcastic best friend  of the future Queen of Elves. I wanted a best friend like Elora when I read Elfin and nothing changed while
reading Rapture. There is so much more to her than anyone could realize and several times  I found my mouth hanging open at some revelations during this book.
Oh, and let's not forget about  Cush.  He's every bit as dreamy and Alpha as Trik including badass warrior skills.  Definitely swoon-worthy. Quinn never disappoints with her Alpha males. They always top my lists!
We also get to meet Elora's brother, Oakley. I really want to see more of him. We also get to see more of Tony, Trik's friend and Casino manger in Las Vegas. I hope his story is going where I want it too. ;)
Rapture is action-packed, laugh out loud funny, with some swoony romance. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book! I can't wait to find out what happens. I NEED to know what's coming  next!  Quinn, keep the amazing work coming!
