Nikki's 5+++ Star Review:

Ms. Hutchins has done it again!  She has once again blown my mind! There are so many things that happen in this book that I would have never guessed! Just when I think I know what's about to happen, she zigs when I zag. This book makes me want to write a spoiler review but I wouldn't dare ruin the jaw-dropping surprises that's awaiting readers. I've never wanted so bad to sit down and discuss a book as bad as I did after reading this one. I immediately started recommending this series after finishing and I know it's not even finished yet.
I fell in love with Syn and Ryder in the first book and my love for them has only grown! Syn remains her fierce, loyal, stubborn, kickass self. And Ryder, he still oozes sex! He is a total Alpha badass and I LOVE him!! There are so many revelations about these two that I must have a bruise on my chin from my jaw hitting the floor so much!
Ms. Hutchins writing is truly a work of art that deserves to be admired by the masses! The way she spins and weaves the plot is utterly masterful. Don't go in thinking you know what's going to happen because you will be wrong. This is not a story that you can figure out by reading the first few pages. It will sink its teeth in you and drag you through its many twists and turns and you will be a willing victim because it is addictive. Once you have a small taste, you will be begging and panting for more!
Ms. Hutchins, I stand in awe of your talent and like an addict, I'm salivating while I wait for what's to come. Please don't keep us waiting for long!
I HIGHLY recommend this book/series for everyone! If your a paranormal fan then this is a MUST READ! For those who have yet to experience paranormal then break yourself in right and start with this series because it has all the qualities that make an amazing read!

Can't go Home By Angelisa Stone -Review

Synopsis:
Everyone has secrets; secrets meant to be kept—hidden away where nobody can discover the truth. Adrian O’Donnell (aka: Dre Donley) is no exception. Dre spins tales and half-truths like it’s his job, keeping the reality of his past buried deep within each lie he fabricates. On the other hand, Kathryn Howell is the exception to the rule. She’s a straight-shooter, a tell-it-like-it-is, no filter kind of girl.

Kathryn’s honesty and straightforwardness is the ultimate turn on for a guy like Dre. He’s never met someone so sincere, so full of truth and innocence. Their chemistry is unavoidable, their connection, magnetic. When Dre sets out to make Kathryn fall for him, he doesn’t realize the grave mistake he’s making. Kathryn’s strength and convictions do not falter, even for an irresistible man like Dre. When his past resurfaces, and the lies come tumbling forth, Kathryn must decide if his deceit and betrayal can be forgiven or if the damage is irreparable. Will the truth ultimately destroy the relationship that neither one of them could deny or even attempt to resist?

This novel is for mature readers only, due to language and sexual content.

Janessa's  5+++++ star review:

Angelisa Stone has me completely enamored of her debut novel Can't Go Home.
For starters the lead female in this novel, Kathryn, is one of the most honest, intelligent, kickass characters I have had the pleasure of reading. I wish I had her witty comebacks and ability to be completely, refreshingly honest.
I always enjoy a strong female lead in a novel, and even more so when the author pulls you in and makes you feel like you are that character. Angelisa's writing not only pulled me in, I could see this story playing out like a movie in my mind. I felt her pain, confusion, love and understanding throughout the entire novel.
Then you have Dre the very sexy, loving, mysterious lead male character. He is now my book boyfriend so hands off ladies he is mine! He is one of those characters that keeps you guessing until the very end but you love him from the start and then unconditionally. Real men could take some pointers from this character.
I went into this book thinking it was  an erotic romance. You know one of those books that is all about a sexual relationship. I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing plot and emotional aspects. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes are extremely Hot with a capital H but it is the story and lives of the characters that made me fall in love. I thoroughly enjoy a book that has a great story with some hot sex scenes instead of sex with a little bit of story, and Angelisa delivered exactly that!! Beautiful characters that had one hell of a story to tell!
I am now hooked and can not wait to see what else this author is going to deliver! I am in complete and total awe of this new, very talented author! Great job Ms. Stone I look forward to your next novel!
Xoxo

Close your eyes and you can imagine what it was like. Hot, sticky, crowded. Smoke, flashing screens, and lighters flickering. Fans screaming, laughing, clapping, and crying.Bodies pushing, shoving, trying to catch a glimpse.Everyone wanting to see the stage—the lights, the equipment, the musician himself.

He was running back and forth singing, headbanging, and playing his guitar. The lyrics were jumbled. His movements out of sync. The sound of the bass thumped through the crowd so loud my body vibrated with every wrong note played. I just wanted it to end.

Nick Wilde had opened for the Counting Crows at the Hollywood Bowl. It was his second chance— and he blew it. The crowd was exhilarated at the start of his first song and he owned the stage but it didn’t last long. By the third song he was improvising, pulling notes, and forgetting words. He was lost in his own trance, soaked in alcohol, and no one could help him…not Xander, not my mother, and definitely not me. “Mr. Jones” started playing before he even finished his fourth song…and he never played onstage again.

Music was his soul. Music was in all of our souls. When we were younger he taught us everything he could…how to play, to sing, the right way to command a stage. We knew every song by every artist. We traveled to concert after concert. Music was his life and it became ours.

But he wasn’t happy just playing. He had a dream—he wanted to be famous. And somewhere along the way his dream became an obsession. I’ll give it to him, he gotfurther than most do. By the age of nineteen he had been signed by a label and cut his first album. But after a disappointing run they released him. He spent the next fifteen years working the circuit—clubs, churches, weddings, birthday parties, as he waited for another big break. And then, just like that, he blew his golden opportunity.

Everything in our life changed after that. The drinking got worse, Grandpa came around more to check on us, and Mom went back to work. Every day left another kink in his chain as he lived in his own world. I was sixteen when his plan A became my plan B and, just like him, at a young age, I cut my first album. But unlike him I had Xander. He wasn’t going to let me fail. The band’s album had a slow start but after a year of touring, it started to gain popularity.

I remember the first time the Wilde Ones graced a real stage. We were restless. We had been sitting around for hours waiting. When we were finally up we strutted confidently across the stage like we had in rehearsal, but, really, we were nervous as hell. The lights were much brighter and the audience so much bigger than we were used to. When the guys started to play, soft, barely audible words flew out of my mouth so fast I forgot to breathe. The band was drowning me out and I knew it. Looking around, I adjusted the microphone height and took in the crowd. They were cheering me on with such enthusiasm that my voice finally soared over them. It was the same voice I’d grown up with, the one my dad had fostered. It was raw and present and soulful, and, in that moment, my music came alive. The crowd went crazy and just like that my life changed again.

Xander struck while the iron was hot. He arranged to go on tour. That was the beginning of the end for me. We started out small. Smaller venues, shitty hotels, crappy food, and a lot of drinking. We opened for band after band and the relationships I madethey kept me going, that and being up on that stage doing what I loved…it kept me going, wanting to make my dad proud…yeah, that, too.

But touring was a constant infringement on my personal space. I hated the cramped quarters, lack of privacy, constant strict schedule, never being in the same city for more than two nights, people following you everywhere, people always wanting something from you. Even the girls throwing themselves at you got old. It was the longest year of my life, but I did it for him because somewhere along the way his dream morphed into mine. What I came to realize was that his dream wasn’t mine—my dad thought being on tour meant you had made it. His dream was about being famous. Mine is about the music.

As the venues got bigger so did the crowds, the fanfare, and I could see how you could get lost in it, caught up in it—but I was determined not to end up like my father. He was addicted to the fame. I’m addicted to the creative process. I hope that difference between us is enough. The tour ended and we wrote, we played around LA, and as time passed life was good. But I had managed to put off cutting another album long enough. This time I was doing it for the band and for my brother and for me—because I love the music. Cutting the album—that’s the fun part. It’s the promoting I dreaded, at least until the day I saw her through the glass. The girl who inspired our song “Once in a Lifetime,” the girl Xander always referred to as my muse, the girl who stole my heart one night and then crushed it at the very same time.

She was as beautiful as I remembered and with one glance she took my breath away. She walked my way, pulling a suitcase behind her, and my heart skipped a beat. I knew immediately she was the one sent to interview me and suddenly any negativity I had about doing press was gone. I couldn’t help but watch her. I wanted her unlike anyone I had ever wanted before. I had to stifle a laugh when her briefcase fell off the top of her suitcase and she glanced around to see who saw. I wanted to yell, “Only me and don’t worry because everything about you is sexy as fuck.”

I rushed to grab the door for her, but she pushed it forward and fell into me—not that I minded in the least. I’d catch her over and over. There wasn’t a thing about her that I didn’t remember from the first time we met and even the awkwardness of the moment brought me to full attention. When her body pressed against mine, I knew in that instant…this time I wasn’t letting her get away so easily. I’d go on a thousand tours to have her in my life—there was just something about her, a light in her eyes that made everything wrong feel right. And just like my dad, I got a second chance—it was her. But unlike him, I wasn’t going to blow it.

When she extended her hand and said, “Hello, I’m Dahlia London from Sound Music. I’m so sorry I’m late,” I knew she had to be mine.

Excerpt:

As tension fills the air between us, I watch him, still unsure about what to do. After a few more seconds of unbearable silence, I close the distance separating us and stand directly in front of him. Avoiding eye contact he leans forward, setting all four legs of the chair down. It kills me to be standing here like this, unable to touch him. I want him to talk to me. I have to break the silence. So I ask, “Do you know your brothers passed out on the couch?”

“Yeah, well he did his best to keep up with me,” he says, setting his beer bottle down next to at least a dozen others. Cocking his head to the side, he just barely glances at me. “So where does all this leave us?”

I answer in complete honestly. “The same place we were yesterday. I know we both have issues to work out, but Im not sure talking about them anymore tonight is a good idea.” Then I grab his hand and pull him out of the chair. He comes willingly. A bag of ice falls to the ground and I notice his other hand is wrapped in a kitchen towel. I swipe his hair from his forehead and try to look at him, into his eyes, but they are unfocused and the skin around one is slightly discolored. I cup his face and he closes his eyes. I run my fingers around the outline of his swollen bruise. “Does it hurt?”

“Nah, not anymore,” he shrugs.

I lift his hand and can see that its also swollen and bruised. “God, River, is it broken?”

He laughs slightly before saying, “You know, I have no fucking idea, but it hurts like hell. Xander had me move my fingers and when I did, he told me to suck it up.”

I carefully caress his hand and bring it to my mouth, softly kissing it. “You cant go after Ben every time you see him. Fighting with him isnt going to change anything.”

“Might not change anything, but makes me feel a hell of a lot better.”

Nikki's Review: 4 stars!

After finishing Connected, I just had to have Torn. Especially after the bomb Ms. Karr dropped on us at the end! I needed to know so many things; how? Why? What does this mean for River and Dahlia? Will they be able to overcome this?

At the beginning we get to see some parts from connected but it the opposite POV which I thought was great. And then later on we also get a bit of River's POV. I always enjoy reading a book that has alternate POV's, even if it is only for a chapter or two n
The twists and turns Ms. Karr created in the first book continues to surprise us in Torn. There were moments where I was wondering where something was going and when it fell into place I literally gasped and was like 'Wow! How did I not see that before?' She gives you enough hints to keep you guessing and leaves you stunned once its revealed. At one point I was even in tears!

I love River but sometimes he can be a hot-headed jerk and jump to conclusions. Of course, we already knew that and still love him because that's just one of the many things that make up River Wilde.
Dahlia is a much stronger character in this book. I had a hard time connecting with her in the first book but she just proves how strong she is. I admire her for overcoming everything that has been put in front of her. I'm not sure i could have done it if I were in her position. Sometimes I found her to be a bit hypocritical but I honestly don't know what I would've have done in her situation so I can't fault her for that.

I highly recommend Torn for those who loved Connected because Ms. Karr's writing has improved tremendously and I'm anxiously awaiting to see where she takes this series. I can't wait for the next book!

Excerpt

Laney

“Hello?”

“Zach, don’t say my name,” I choke out, storming across the lot as fast as my shaking legs will carry me.

“What’s wrong? Where’d you-“ his voice comes loud and worried through the phone.

“Don’t say that!” I interrupt, God, how embarrassing. “Can you walk away from everyone and talk to me for a minute? Where no one can hear you.” My voice is nasally and obnoxious, getting on my own nerves.

“Yeah Mom, hang on.” Zach- not a great actor. “Okay Laney, I’m by myself now,” he whispers.

“I’m sorry I bailed on practice, and I’m sorry to bug you now, but I need a Zach of infinite wisdom fix real bad right about now.”

“Let’s pretend I don’t already know what’s up your ass and you go ahead. It’ll give you a chance to vent.”

Alright, so that almost makes me grin.

“Basically, he just hung on that bitch in front of me just to piss me off, and it worked! Seriously? I don’t do that shit to him! Nothing I did was to purposely hurt him. How long did I absolutely torture myself NOT to hurt him Zach, huh? A long ass time!” I come up for air, waiting for him to tell me how right I am while I climb in my truck.

“Laney, you know I love you, right?”

This can’t be good.

“Yes…”

“Then you know it’s with love when I say this.” Dramatic pause that makes my skin crawl. “Get over yourself! I don’t care if he fucked her on the field and asked you to film it. You may not have meant to, but you destroyed that kid. He’s here with no friends, no girl and a new team. Sound familiar? He’s just trying to put one foot in front of the other every day, just like you did. You got your happily ever after, so back the fuck off and let himtry to find his.”

Well then. Zach-1. Laney-0.

It hurts, not even gonna pretend it doesn’t, but his words are honest…and absolutely dead on. It angers me at myself for being the cause of such sad, but true words, describing the crushing of my Evan. It’s a lot to think on and I have to do that now, before I cruise right out of control.

“You’re right Zach. That’s why I call you. I’ll always get the straight-up what I need to hear. Thanks.”

“I luv ya Laney. Don’t be mad at me, but much like yourself, don’t ask for my advice if you don’t want it.”

I chuckle, “God, if that isn’t the truth. You’re harsh, but right. I’m not mad, I swear. Now go coach! I’ll talk to ya later.”

“Later Laney.”

I hang up and stare out my windshield, pondering. Zach is right, I’m being a selfish bitch.

Janessa's  4++++  Star Review:

I get an email telling me about a new book that had been released. So I gave it a shot and I am so glad I did! I am now, not so patiently waiting, for anything else S.E Hall will throw my way! I also have an entire new playlist on my phone because of this amazing series!

Embrace begins right where Emerge left off, thankfully, because I was dying to know what happened! S.E had me hooked from the first page in Emerge to the final sentence of Embrace! No joke, I read them back to back and didn't stop!

I was pulled into the lives of her characters and made to feel like one of "the crew". In many books I read I connect to one, maybe two of the characters...in this book I feel a connection to every character in some way.

In Embrace we see Evan's struggle to move on from Laney, the only girl he has ever loved. He decides it's time to put himself out there and date. Never big on the date scene because he always had Laney, he finds that it's not as simple to find a sweet, normal girl like the one he was used to!

"I have had my fortune told by the crypt keeper, fed another mans fetus and I'm pretty sure I went out with a dude!"          ~Evan Allen: Embrace

I was very surprised when a character from Emerge turned his head, especially when it was a character I had some harsh feelings toward. But S.E being the talented author that she is pulled me in the direction she wanted (she is very good at this, just so you know) and completely changed my view of her. I found myself wanting nothing more than for Evan to choose her and make them both happy. *I am leaving out her name in case you have not read the books*

Staying in the same path of the story you first discover in Emerge, Embrace takes the characters to an entire new level with events from their past that made them who they are today. Mistakes and heartache that they have been living with for years are discovered and how they are dealt with has emotion dripping from the pages.

"When you're young, all you can think about is how you can't wait to be old enough to drive, have no curfew, no parents telling you what to do, be old enough to drink, to vote, to get in clubs- all exciting, glamorous things you think adulthood holds. I didn't have these exact thoughts, but I'm pretty sure it's the consensus, and I have now confirmed my original skepticism...growing up is not all it's cracked up to be. It's scary, it comes with a new set of drawbacks, and mostly, the more you change, grow up and move on....so does everyone around you. You're dad can't protect you from everything, he can't slap a Band-Aid on it or tell their parents and fix it. As you get older, the adults you love get older, the problems get bigger and less fixable, and the pain gets worse."       ~Laney Walker: Embrace

If you want a novel that will make you fall in love, laugh, feel your heart ache and be completely enamored with, then read S.E Halls Evolve Series. You will not regret it! I will be sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for Entice (book 3)...still waiting...I need Sawyers story NOW!

Job well done S.E Hall!!!

Book Excerpt:

Xavier stomped backstage behind his brother. He raked his hand through his hair, unable to believe he’d let her walk away.

His Sophia. He’d thought of her, dreamed of her, and prayed for her for the last ten years. And there she’d been, as if in answer to his prayers. He hadn’t seen her in a decade. And the small bit of a kiss he’d given her had only sparked his longing for her more. The girl he’d spent countless hours looking for was right there in London, waiting for him. She’d trembled in his arms. Silent yearning had been clear on her face, and all he’d wanted to do was sweep her up, tuck her into a limo, and drive away.

“Tell me again why you couldn’t handle this, Bryant?” Xavier ground out as they rounded the backstage corner.

Bryant cocked a grin. “You’re the boss, bro. You get all twitchy when things don’t go as planned. You always have your hands in the middle of it.”

Xavier suppressed a growl. He wanted his hands on Sophia, not cleaning up a fashion show mess. “I could’ve done without any hassles tonight. I was busy.”

They stopped in front of their storage room. Bryant slid open the door, and they stepped inside.

“Yeah, you looked busy.” Bryant walked over to a rack in the corner. In meticulous fashion, he plucked clothes from it and put them into over-sized luggage cases. “But in case you forgot, we’ve got things to do here.”

“I didn’t forget. I was doing something elsevery important.” Xavier dug his phone out of his pocket and sent a message to Diana and Marcus, whose problems were insignificant at the moment.

“The sassy raven-haired beauty is important? Figures.”

Xavier jerked some clothes off the rack and flung them into the cases. Keeping them neat wasn’t priority number one. Finishing quickly was. “It was Sophia.”

Bryant stopped packing. He gave a twisted smile. “The Sophia?”

Xavier’s nod was quick.

Bryant scratched his head. “You’re trying to tell me that some random chick at a London fashion show is the same girl you’ve been trying to hunt down all these years? The same girl you thought you knocked up before she vanished?”

“Her parents took her away,” Xavier corrected firmly. “Sophia wanted to stay with me.”

“Whatever.” Bryant started working again. “So we come here and bam! There she is. Well, good for you. Just don’t get all distracted andgoogly-eyed while we’re trying to work. Besides, how do you know it’s her? I mean, ten years is a long time.”

“Bryant, it was her.” Xavier dropped another load of clothes in the case as he stared at his brother. “I’ve never been more certain of anything in my whole life. And I’d appreciate it if you weren’t so smug about it.”

“Sorry. It’s been a long damn night. I didn’t mean to snap at you.”

He patted Xavier on the shoulder. “I know she meant a lot to you, and I’m sorry I had to drag you away from her. If I had known who she was, I wouldn’t have.”

“It’s all right.” He tucked the last of the clothes into a case. “After all, I created this fashion line to remind me of her. It’s only right to take care of it before I see her again at the after-party.”

“What?”

A smile curled the corner of Xavier’s mouth. “You didn’t think I would let her walk out of my arms without knowing I would see her again soon, did you?”

Bryant shrugged. “Well, no. I guess not. What are you going to do now?”

The lid of the case slammed shut, and Xavier jerked his vibrating phone back out of his pocket. “Well, as soon as I get these fires extinguished, I’m going to go start one with her.”

Bryant laughed. “After this long, that’ll be one hell of a raging inferno.”

“I hope so.”

Character Bio:

Xavier Cain is from New York. At 27 he has become an uber popular (and rich) fashion designer. His inspiration—and his drive—came from one place: the woman he met when he was 17 and has thought about every day since.

1.
What is your ideal woman like? There are no “ideal” womanEach woman is woven differently in time, each with their own wonderful attributes. Every woman is beautiful.

2.
What do you like the least about yourself?Well *rubs hand over face*, I don’t like the fact that I lost Sophia all those years ago because I was poor. It’s driven me mad. I’ve spent tens years climbing the social latter for her family. And I’ll spend ten more if that’s what it takes.

3.
What are the three most important things in life to you? My fashion line, Sophia, and figuring out what happened to her all those years ago.

4.
What music is on your playlist right now?Sophia loved classical music and she shared that loved with me. Now it’s a part of my inspiration and I’ve got everything from Bach to Ponchielli to Beethoven on my playlist. It’s another great reminder of her.

5.
What is your favorite curse/dirty word? Damn. It sums up everything in one short syllable. Damn, that hurt. Damn, this pain will never go away. Damn, I lost her again! See?

6.
How do you seduce and/or excite a woman? When you’ve seen inside the soul of the woman you cherish the most, seducing and exciting her is the simplest and easiest thing on earth. Sounds and touches and scents become more potent. Everything is heightened and something as simple as a stroke across a cheek can elicit a shudder or shiver, or even raging need.

7.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve ever made love? Have you made love under a waterfall? Not only is it beautiful, it magical.
